Student Directions

 

 

 

1.      Search for objects that represent any of the science terms on the vocabulary lists and photograph them.

2.     Take a variety of pictures.  Only clearly recognizable features will count.

3.     The Score Sheet lists ten science categories (Rocks & Minerals -Miscellaneous), and each category contains descriptions of three possible items to be photographed.  Each item is assigned a point value (1-6).  Natural examples of the objects have twice the value of man-made items.  Groups may use only one item from each of the categories.

4.     There is a time limit.  Return to the meeting place by_____.

5.     Use the photos you have taken to prepare a slide show.

6.     Use the Draw or Paint features of the program to outline the science term in each of your photos (5 additional points).

7.     Write a caption for each photo using the words from the vocabulary terms list (5 additional points).

8.     Label each photo with the science category term (Anatomy) and the item number within the category (Anatomy - 3). For example, the 3-point object in the category must be labeled Anatomy - 3 (5 additional points).

9.     Use your Science Scavenger Hunt Score Sheet as a guide.

10.  You will present your slide show to the class. The scoring will be done as the slide shows are presented.

 

 

 

 

Extra Points:  Earn 10 extra points by drawing a map that shows where you took one of the photos.
