Daily Journal Entry

1. Answer the questions listed for each day of lab in complete sentences on loose leaf.

2. For each of the systems studied, you should complete the following:

a. At least one paragraph describing the system(s).

b. Make a chart listing all of the structures. List each of the structures with a description which includes shape, its relative size, color, what it is connected to, and the function of each structure.  You will have to look up the functions in your text book or a reference book. Then, add any additional information which would help you to remember that structure. Your chart should look something like this:

Structure Description Position Associated with Function Additional
(name) (size, shape, color) (where in or on the body it is located) (other organs and the system to which it belongs) (what job does it do for the body) (any additional info)

3. At least one paragraph describing how you and your partner worked together.  This would include which one of you  did the actual dissection on that day and how you felt about the experience.

4. At least one paragraph describing what you learned during this lab period.

5. A drawing that labels each structure that is listed (on the back of your packet) for the system you studied. Use the outlines in Packet #3 for these drawings, and draw the system within these outlines.  Labels should be done in ink, even though the drawings of the system may be in pencil.  You may use colored pencils to define the structures, but do not use wax crayons.
