911 ESSAY

Directions:

Follow the websites to find the story of 9/11. Upon writing your essay, be sure to include the mood of the nation and how the nation has changed since the attacks. Search the links below for valuable facts to write an informative historical essay. The essay should include information with the following points:

1. time line

2. historical facts and events

3. eyewitness accounts

4. information on the assassins

5. facts about the victims

6. search and rescue information and chronological information on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon

Objectives:

1. create and read a historical timeline list facts and events of historical significance of 9/11

2. review and read eyewitness accounts

3. discover cultural and societal norms of ethnic groups

4. social, emotional and economic needs of families

5. review and discuss government efforts to provide support and rescue efforts to injured citizens

Materials:

Papers, pencils, computers, disk, markers, etc.

Activities:

Divide students into groups of 2 – 3
