On February 1, 2001 a group of eight prospective parents arrived in Nanchang, Jiangxi, China. Here is the Teng Wang Pavilion.

That day, they handed our new daughters to us.
From left to right, they are: Mia Amanda with mom Rosemary, Lisa Jun with mom Lynette, and Cara with mom Marilyn.
From left to right, Jenna with mom Laura, Sadie with mom Francis, Zoe with mom Carol, and Sasha with dad Bob.
Here newly adopted baby Amanda is with sister Jillian (adopted in 1997) and with mom Phyllis and dad Kent.
After two weeks in Nanchang, it was time to go to the American consulate. We traveled south to Guangzhou, also known as Canton, China.
Guangzhou and the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees
Here we are visiting the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees where Lisa and Cara were blessed (baptized) by a buddist monk.
