Hewlett-Packard launches Java desktop (1)

SINGAPORE, Sept 25 (Reuter) - Hewlett-Packard Co on Wednesday launched its first desktop computer powered by Java, an open-platform software developed by Sun Microsystems . The desktop was introduced by Hewlett-Packard Singapore (Sales) Pte Ltd and SunSoft Asia South, at Comdex/Asia, a computer exhibition held in Singapore. The HP Vectra Java powered personal computer comes with SunSoft Java Workshop, a multi-platform development tool for creating applications on the Internet.
