"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I LEARN." -Benjamin Franklin

Distributed Learning is defined as: "the trend to utilize a mix of delivery modes for OPTIMAL instruction and learning (audio, video, computer technologies, etc.)" In other words, DL is the acquisition of knowledge and skills through mediated information and instruction, encompassing all technologies and other forms of learning at a distance.

Important elements of DL are:

* Authoring tools--content development; * Content--relevant and up-to-date; * Higher band-width Networks--to support multimedia and video streams; * Multiplatform support for End-users apps--Java clients.

Java Technology and the Java desktops are the center piece of our Distributed Learning program.
