Data Files

Included here are links to the Data Files needed to complete the WebSites of Case Problems for each of the 10 Tutorials from our TextBook. (Remember, tutorials from our textbook are equal to chapters of most books.) You will download these files directly from the Publisher's WebSite. Size of these downloads vary. Some are large, and may take some time to complete. DOWNLOAD THE Data Files using the links below. There are links for Windows files, and Macintosh files. Be carful to correctly choose files for you computer.

Student Data Files for Microsoft Windows are located on the Companion WebSite for Students. The Link to Data Files for Microsoft Windows is on the left side of WebPage, under Book Resources, just click "Data Files".

Student Data Files for Macintosh are located on the Companion WebSite for Students. The Link to Data Files for Macintosh is on the left side of WebPage, under Book Resources, just click "Data Files (Mac)".

When you have downloaded a complete set of files, you should have a folder for each Tutorial name like this ... tutorial.01, tutorial.02, etc. Inside each tutorial.xx folder will be one folder for each Case Problem named case1, case2, etc. One folder named review which contains files for the Tutorial sample WebSite, i.e. Tutoria 1 review is "the J-Prop Shop".

You need a Text Editor and a FTP Client

Microsoft Windows ... there are many freely available TextEditors for Windows, so I don't want to make any recomendations, like Notepad++ (ask Wiki). FileZilla is a free FTP client for both Mac and Windows.

Macintosh ... for a Mac TextEditor, I suggest the freely available BBEdit. FileZilla is a free FTP client for both Mac and Windows. FTP for Macs, I like Fetch, there is a free license for education. Apply for Free Fetch License.

You need a Modern WebBrowser

Not everyone browsing the Web has a modern WebBrowser. You need one for this class. It is likely you already have one, but make sure you do. Realize that visitors to your WebSite may not have one.

WebBrowsers ... it is a total MUST for you to have at minimum one Modern WebBrowser. George recommends you have three (3) modern WebBrowsers install, and use all 3 to test your WebPages.

Modern WebBrowsers ... Internet Explorer 8 and above is modern, Explorer 7 and older, not modern. If you are a Macintosh user Safari is modern. Both Windows and Mac users can install a version of Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Current version of Firefox for Windows can be downloaded here ... Windows Firefox here. Current version of Firefox for Mac can be downloaded here ... Mac Firefox here. Current version of Google Chrome can be downloaded here ... Crome here.
