  • Last Class?
  • One feature of a web page is its ability to display itself on any computer.
  • Another feature ... most web pages are editable by anyone, turning the document into you own ... this is called reuse (note: you need special access, like FTP, to change an original document). Web pages are 100 constructed of plain text. If this is true, where do the picture come from?
  • The internet lets us transport web pages around the world in the blink of an eye.
  • The editability, displayability, and transportability of web pages makes them unique ... no other document format comes close.

  • What about Copyright Law and digital documents?

  • An Index Page ... is a Home Page ... is the first page of your site.
  • Is it resonable to expect that your index page will be the first page visitors see?
  • What is BBEdit ... ?
  • How practical is video on Web?

  • What about Website Project 2 -- due this Thursday, July 20 at 9:00 AM?
    1. I expect greater focus on the content for this project ... for example -- the final product should be useable by you in a processional setting, as a teacher or whatever your profession. What is the bigger picture, how does your web site fit in your larger professional role? Who is your audience. What resources other than your web site are needed? What are Louisiana's content standards? How will you evaluate uses of this web site? List sources of images, music or text that you're using. Provide links back to the original source. Say thanks to anyone who provided resources or help. List any books and other analog media that you used as information sources as well.
    2. I expect that this is a group project.
    3. Some of you are in Dr. Levitt's class that meets in the mornings. It is possible to coordinate this project with work in Dr. Levitt's class. You will need to emplane to me and to Dr. Levitt the how this will satisfy the requirements of both classes.
