  • Assignment for next week:

    1st Book Review, 10 points. Book reviews are the ONLY assessments (grades) given to you by the instructor. Post your book review to your Discussion Board before 4:00 PM on Sunday (September 24.

    Writing the book review

  • Length should not exceed 3 pages (500 words).
  • Please write and edit your review using your favorite word processor, then copy and paste it to your Discussion Board.
  • Note that it is possible to use links to appropriate web resources in your review.
  • Well written reviews are grammatical and avoid obvious spelling errors. Composition and clarity are necessary if others will benefit from your work.
  • Don't editorialize or inject personal opinions. This can happen during our in class discussions.
  • Write an essay, not an outline.
  • Point out the book's special characteristics (if any).
  • Show the relationship of the book to our work in class.
  • Prepare for class by reading the book reviews of your peers.
  • Come to class prepared to discuss your book with our class.
