  • Not everyone is sending attendance eMail. This is my only record of who attended which class.
  • I am now very disappointed in the lack of participation in our class Journal.
  • Keeping weekly journal entries is an important class activity. It's not too late to catch up. Please, include serious comments about what is happening in class. I depend on these comments to make judgments on the success of our class.

  • Assignment for next week: vClass II

  • Our second virtual class meeting.
  • I expect that some of the technical problems we experineced during our last vClass will be solved.
  • We will use only 2 chat tables this time, so unnecessary swapping in and our of chat tables will be minimal.
  • If you experenced problems last time, I expect you will find a solution so you will not be prevented from participating this time.
  • going to UNO is an option, but my preference is for you to use computers at remote locations ... i.e. your home or school.
  • A discussion board is setup for us to use to exchange info about this vClass meeting. A description of the topics, who is responsible for what topic, and a timed schedule is included.
  • A chat table is set up with 3 chats, a Group Table, a Book Review Table, and a Chat with George table.
  • Don't forget that redCap (our eMail list) can also be used to make sure everyone understands what will happen next week.
  • vClasses & Information Networks in the Curricula?
    • How many communication technologies can you name that will be used to prepare for and experience our next vClass?
    • eMail, snailMail, listMail, voiceMail, wiredPhones, wirelessPhones, faceToFace, webSites, discussionBoards, priorDiscussionBoards, virtualChats, webPortals, searchEngines???
    • Who can name some additional communication technologies -- Information Networks?
    • eMail redCap with your ideas, use -- INFORMATION NETWORK IDEAS -- as the subject of your message.
    • Who will be first to eMail us an idea? Briefly explain how this communication technology benefits our vClass meeting.
    • Take +1 bonus point toward your final grade in this class for explaining your idea(s).
    • Feel free to explain any communication technologies already mentioned above.
    • Take an extra +1 bonus point toward your final grade for explaining a technology not mentioned above.
    • Be sure to visit the discussion board for this vClass. Visit often. Feel free to leave messages for your classmates.
    • Also, remember, eMail to redCap will also help us be prepaired for this class meeting.
