Sites to explore includes links about connecting a lesson

Connecting a Lesson

  • Across the Curriculum
  • to Technology
  • to Standards
  • to "a teachable moment"
  • "We must move beyond thinking of curricula as a thing, a course to be traveled, and begin thinking of curricula as a verb, as in running the course. It is not sufficient for curricula to describe the universe. The curricula must itself be an ecological system."
  • I fail as a teacher ... if ... my students learn more than I do!
  • So, tonight, I describe a road to travel. You will run the course. Then we all meet back hear to teach each other about our universe.
  • How does this relate to the Web?
  • You will a conduct a "Digital Scavenger Hunt"
    1. In groups
    2. I have digital cameras
    3. Follow the Directions.
    4. Meet back here in 1 hour
    5. Using PowerPoint ... to make a slide show
    6. Present your show to our class
    7. We will vote on "who was best"
    8. There is a BIG prize for the winner

  • Next week's Assingment:
    1. Take time to read everyone's book review
    2. Pick 3 reviews of interest
    3. Reply to each with a question for the reviewer
    4. Replys are due before mignight on Friday
    5. You may NOT Reply to reviews that already have more than 3 Replys
    6. Before Sunday at 4:00PM, answer all questions about your review.
