upcomming vClass meeting

  • November 22, SnoCaps & The Seekers -- Thanksgiving eve!

  • George is NOT in Class (Nov 1)

  • Next Wednesday, we will visit Memorial Baptist Christan School. Follow this link for directions and a brief preview of what Julie will can show us ... and maybe what we can show Julie.
  • I will be in Pigeon Forge, TN for personal enrichment. The phone number where I will be staying is (423) 428-1122.
  • It is likely that I will be able to join our class in our chat room (Chat with George) during class Wednesday. I will place a call to the classroom on Wednesday night some time around 5:00 PM. And then I will try to join you'll in a brief chat. This will be a long distance call for me.
  • I expect that I will be able to answer eMail at least once per day while I am out of town.
  • Maybe ... I will post a picture or two of my activities.

  • House Keeping
  • Please review the Important Dates for this class -- we will all meet in our classroom only once more before our final exam. This schedule shows the importance of Information Networks in the Curricula, we will not succeed without using Information Networks!
  • In one week (Nov.8) we will be on last Field Trip to Memorial Baptist Christan School.
  • In two weeks (Nov. 15) finally ... back at UNO ... what do you want to do?
  • In three weeks (Nov. 22) vClass III -- SnoCaps & The Seekers are responsible for planning.
  • In four weeks (Nov. 29) Final Exam presentations in class this night. This will leave our last class meeting for something real -- like a BBQ or whatever?

  • Our next Assignment will be the Book Review due Sunday, November 12, at 4:00PM, otherwise the assingment is as explained below.

2nd Book Review, 10 points. Book reviews are the ONLY assessments (grades) given to you by the instructor. Post your book review to your Discussion Board before Sunday, November 12, at 4:00PM.

    Writing the book review

  • Length should not exceed 3 pages (500 words).
  • Please write and edit your review using your favorite word processor, then copy and paste it to your Discussion Board.
  • Note that it is possible to use links to appropriate web resources in your review.
  • Well written reviews are grammatical and avoid obvious spelling errors. Composition and clarity are necessary if others will benefit from your work.
  • Don't editorialize or inject personal opinions. This can happen during our in class discussions.
  • Write an essay, not an outline.
  • Point out the book's special characteristics (if any).
  • Show the relationship of the book to our work in class.
  • Prepare for class by reading the book reviews of your peers.
  • "REPLY" to others book reviews with constructive feedback.
